In the market for construction components, more and more gates, doors, frames and operators carry the Hörmann name, making Hörmann Europe's leading provider of such products.
This leadership of the family company has been attained through decades of continuous growth as a result of innovation, ensured quality and proximity to the customer.
Today, the Hörmann Group is run by the third and fourth generation, i.e. the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of company founder August Hörmann. Thomas J. Hörmann, Martin J. Hörmann, and Christoph Hörmann are the personally liable general partners.
The foundation for today's company was laid in the 1950s with the industrial production of a new type of garage door: the "Berry" up-and-over door. In the 1960s, space-saving, vertically opening sectional doors for garages, as well as for industrial and commercial buildings, initiated a development with a promising future. Since then, the product range has been extended systematically. Today, it includes well-known classics, plus rolling shutters, folding, fire, and high-speed doors, door operators and controls, as well as loading technology systems, fire and smoke-tight door assemblies, entrance and internal doors, canopies and frames.
Hörmann (Series 2000) garage doors are assembled at the new Hörmann factory in Leicestershire from components sourced from both the continent and the U.K. All Hörmann garage doors are manufactured according to the Quality Management System DIN ISO 9001 and meet all the requirements of the European Standard 13241-1
The Hörmann Group is Europe's leading supplier of doors. More than 15 million doors have been produced and delivered worldwide since its foundation in 1935. More than 6,000 employees in 26 specialised factories in Europe, North America and Asia develop and produce high-quality doors, hinged doors, frames and operators for use in private and commercial properties. The headquarters of the globally active Hörmann Group is located in the small town of Steinhagen, Germany. The still family-run company recently recorded an annual turnover of more than 1 billion euros. Over 80 individual sales locations in more than 30 countries as well as hundreds of authorised dealers in about 35 additional countries ensure short distances for Hörmann customers around the globe.
As a result of its social commitment, Hörmann traditionally supports projects from non-profit organisations and institutions concerned with the situation of handicapped or chronically ill people.
Information on previous and current projects supported by Hörmann can be found, in German and English, at www.AmHerzen.de .
As part of the company's 75th anniversary celebrations, Hörmann has founded a scholarship programme for young adults. All Hörmann employees have the chance to recommend a suitable applicant (aged between 18 and 24) from their own family or social circle for the scholarship programme.
