Dementia Awareness Week runs from May 17th - 23rd. We will be seizing this opportunity to raise awareness of the illness by organising a small internal fundraisers, decorating our offices and informing our customers of our support work.
Last week, a group of 14 Hörmann employees took part in the Farmageddon run to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. The event was a sponsored assault course, taking participants over 5 or 10 kilometres of manmade and natural obstacles, through woodland, farm tracks and grassland. Having completed the challenge, the team is proud to have raised over £2000 in sponsorship. This brings Hörmann UK’s fundraising total up £44,159 since their partnership with Alzheimer’s Society began, less than £1000 shy of their target amount. Managing Director of Hörmann UK, David Newcombe, hopes to make further ground on this target over the coming week. Along with some support from family members and co-workers, David will be undertaking the Leicestershire Round, a 102 mile circular walk around Hörmann UK’s home county. We wish him the best of luck and welcome any support for this worthy cause.
