Established in 1989, Secured by Design (SBD) is the flagship security accreditation that has instant industry recognition. Created by the Police Force in the UK to support the designing out of crime, the accreditation means that the Hörmann doors have undergone stringent security and safety tests to ensure they have been manufactured and designed from the start with the security of the customer in mind.

Hörmann sectional doors have been designed to prevent and discourage criminal intrusion and vandalism. For the accreditation to be valid the doors should be installed behind the brickwork and not include any glazing options or external handles. Once fitted the installation will need to be registered with Hörmann to obtain the SBD certification.
