The door for special fitting situations and requirements

Hörmann side sliding sectional doors are the ideal solution for unusual fitting situations. Unlike up-and-over, sectional and roller garage doors, this type of door does not open upwards, but to the side. This is particularly advantageous, for example, if you want to keep the garage ceiling clear for storing items (such as surfboards) or if, for structural reasons (a sloping roof, a low lintel or obstructive drainpipes), the door leaf cannot be stored or fitted beneath the ceiling.

The 42 mm thick PU-foam-filled sandwich panels offer excellent sound and thermal insulation, as well as high structural rigidity and smooth, quiet operationfor the door leaf. HST side sliding sectional doors are characterised by their ease of use, thanks to a recessed grip for manual operation, and also impress with improved sealing properties and enhanced break-in resistance equipment, courtesy of a standard 3-point locking system on the closing and curve sides, as well as additional security bolts.

Particularly handy: for pedestrian passage, side sliding sectional doors can be opened quickly and easily, even just partially. This way, you can get into your garage more quickly, for example to fetch your bike or motorbike.

The choice is yours: With the double-skinned, 42-mm-thick sections of the side sliding sectional doors HST 42 you can rely on good thermal insulation, plus increased stability and smoother running. If you want more light in the garage or better ventilation, the aluminium frame door HART 42 is the ideal solution. The combination of the aluminium frame and the extensive, evenly divided glazing ensures a harmonious and elegant door appearance.

Design overview

Create your dream door choosing from different door styles, ranging from the elegant M- and L-ribbings to exclusive designs with glazings and stainless steel embellishments.

It's your choice

Individually design your garage door according to your wishes.
You can select from up to 4 surface finishes that you can adapt to match the colour of your home. You can choose from 15 equally-priced preferred colours, approx. 200 RAL colours and 3 Decograin styles. The door surfaces are optimally protected against rust, allowing you to enjoy your new door for a long time. Rain runs off without leaving any streaky marks thanks to the use of hot-galvanized material and a high-quality polyester-primer coating on both sides.

For the Duragrain surface finish with its detailed, natural and colourfast door surface, you can choose from 24 decors, e.g. with a concrete (see Fig.), rusty steel or natural stone look. The innovative digital printing process in combination with the final coating of high-strength protective paint ensures a permanently beautiful and scratch-resistant door view.

Decograin surface finishes with UV-resistant plastic film coating give your sectional door a striking and authentic timber look or an elegant metallic appearance in Anthracite. You can select from five natural timber decors or an elegant metallic decor.

Thanks to its elegant door appearance, the silky smooth Silkgrain surface finish is the first choice for modern architecture. A 50% thicker external sheet on the sections also ensures higher stability and even smoother running. This surface finish is available in Traffic white RAL 9016, in 15 preferred colours or in RAL to choose.

42-mm-thick panels with PU foam infill are guided safely and precisely at the top by stable twin rollers and at the bottom in a rounded floor rail. The floor rail is easy to clean, as it is open on both ends.

Optimally shaped door section transitions and hinges prevent fingers from being accidentally trapped.

Double automatic safety cut-out

The reliable automatic safety cut-out is active during both the opening and the closing cycle of the door. The door stops immediately if there is an obstacle in the opening zone or in the wall guide.

This prevents injuries and damage to vehicles or property.

Get into your garage faster

Side sliding sectional doors can also be opened partially to allow pedestrians to pass. This lets you get into your garage faster, without the need for the whole door to be open.

More convenient with automatic partial opening

The passage width can be individually set in doors with an operator.

The door is operated via the hand transmitter or the optional door handle with radio module.

Locked

The elegant door handle with recessed grip ensures easy operation from both inside and outside. When closing, three hooks on the curve side and three security bolts on the closing side of the door leaf engage and firmly connect the door leaf to the side frame. On manually operated doors, a hook catch lock additionally secures the closing side.

Certified RC2 security

You have the option of the LPU 67 Thermo automatic sectional garage door and the LPU 42 automatic sectional garage door with certified RC2 security features compliant with DIN/TS 18194. This means that your garage door will withstand an attempted break-in with tools such as screwdrivers, pliers and wedges for at least 3 minutes. Certified burglar protection like this is also recommended by police information centres. 

BiSecur radio system with certified security

The bidirectional radio system BiSecur features future-oriented technology for the convenient and secure operation of garage and entrance gate operators, door operators, lights and more.

This extremely secure BiSecur encryption protocol, developed by Hörmann, with a stable, interference-free range makes sure that no one can copy your radio signal. It was tested and certified by security experts at Bochum university and independent test institutes.

Convenient querying of the door position

You no longer have to go out in all kinds of weather to check if your door is closed. At the press of a button, the colour of the LED on the hand transmitter HS 5 BS or the internal push button FIT 5 BS indicates the position of the door.  If required, another push of a button* closes the door. It is the most convenient and secure way to control your door.
* An additional photocell is required for operation without visual contact to the door

Aluminium door frame for quick fitting for uneven walls

The aluminium frame for side sliding sectional doors can be completely pre-assembled before alignment and fastening to the garage wall. This saves a considerable amount of time during fitting. Additionally, the reinforced construction of the frame simplifies installation on uneven walls and is therefore particularly suitable for renovations. The frame, made of anodised aluminium, is corrosion-resistant and optionally available for all HST 42 side sliding sectional doors and HART 42 aluminium frame doors.

Aluminium frame door for more light transmission and improved ventilation

The aluminium frame door HART 42 is used where more light in the garage or better ventilation is desired, e.g. in parking spaces of collective garages. The combination of the aluminium frame and the extensive, evenly divided glazing ensures a harmonious and elegant door appearance. With a total of 12 different infill variations with glazings, grilles or PU sandwich panels, the side sliding sectional door can be adapted to your individual requirements and design preferences. Depending on the infill, the HART 42 guarantees transparency, light transmission and good ventilation in the garage. The aluminium frame door is only available with an operator.
